The Awakening follows Florence Cathcart , an author dedicated to debunking ghost stories and supernatural frights as nothing more than pranks. But her journey into an all-boys boarding school in 1921 has her questioning validity for the first time. Be sure to grab a blanket to hide behind as you watch the eerie phenomenon unfold.

If you're looking for something a little less spooky and geared a whole lot more toward the whole family, check out Hotel Transylvania. The film enters the animated world of Dracula where monster families can live it up in luxury. Voices include Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Andy Samberg and more.

If you enjoyed the first three films in the franchise then give this a shot, otherwise your life will probably go on just fine without another dose of Paranormal Activity. The shock factor is always amplified in a theater setting, so we're not too sure this flick will stand strong at home.
