X-Men: Days of Future Past has turned into a real reunion. First, original director Matthew Vaughn dropped out, leaving producer Bryan Singer to take his place. Singer then announced that several stars from the previous trilogy would be joining the cast.
It's been confirmed that Sir Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart are set to reprise their roles as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto and Professor Charles Xavier. There also was talk of Hugh Jackman returning as everyone's favorite clawed mutant, Wolverine.

X Men: Days of Future Past is a follow-up to 2011's X-Men: First Class. Essentially, it's a prequel to the X-Men films that ran from 2000 to 2006. The new story and title are taken from a popular arc in the comic books. It includes time travel and alternate dimensions, which makes it easy to feature various characters from the franchise.
McKellen and Stewart will share their roles with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, who play younger versions of their characters. There's also been talk of stars Halle Berry and James Marsden returning as Ororo Munroe/Storm and Scott Summers/Cyclops respectively.
Singer did say there was more to come. Do we smell another casting announcement?
Jackman's spinoff The Wolverine hits theaters July 26, 2013, while X-Men: Days of Future Past debuts on July 18, 2014.
