DeGeneres began with Liza Minnelli, who was sitting in the crowd, and called her "one of the most amazing Liza Minnelli impersonators I have seen in my entire life. Good job, sir."

Minnelli appeared in the crowd looking half uncomfortable and half very upset with DeGeneres' comments.

Here are some of her other one-liners from the show:

"For those around the world, it has been a tough couple of days here — it's raining. We're fine, thank you for your prayers."

Speaking of Captain Phillips actor Barkhad Abdi and his native country of Somalia, she said, "He is a sommelier, so he knows a lot about wine."

"I am not saying that movies are the most import thing in the world, because we all know that the most important thing is youth."

"I think you should think of yourselves as winners. Not all of you, but those who have won before."

"I did some research, and between all of you here tonight, you have made 1,400 films. And have gone to a total of six years of college."

DeGeneres referred to Jennifer Lawrence's fall as she was getting out of the car to attend the ceremony, also mentioning Lawrence's fall during the 2013 Oscars. She then compared one of Lawrence's best-known roles to the Oscars Ceremony: "Let's face it, it's The Hunger Games. There's cameras everywhere, you're starving, Jennifer Lawrence won last year."

"We all know that the most important thing is love and family, and if they don't have those things, they get into show business."

2014 Oscars beauty report: The best looks of the night >>

"I am not going to say who looks the most beautiful, but it's Jared Leto. Boy, is he pretty."

"There are a lot of possibilities here tonight. Possibility #1 is that 12 Years A Slave wins for Best Picture. Possibility #2 is that you are all racist."

"Jonah Hill is here tonight. He is nominated for Wolf of Wall Street. You showed us something in that film that I have not seen in a very, very long time."
